This Exhibition brings together two artists with a passion for the natural environment, whose practices incorporate printmaking but whose work evolves in different directions through distinctive, layered approaches. For Linda the initial print is transformed through the use of textiles and stitch, while Carolyn uses drawing and acrylics to extend the print into an abstract composition. Our Exhibition includes a collaborative element which explores the roll printmaking plays in our art process, while also sharing art works from our individual practices. Starting with a shared inspiration, the native Running Postman Vine, we have each created a new work reflecting our individual interpretation and process. We will include some samples of this process in the exhibition, allowing visitors some insight into our creative journey from print to completed art work. We will also share a selection of our recent art work showing the range of approaches and techniques that are part of our ongoing practices. Together our work reflects both harmony and contrast, celebrates the possibilities of printmaking and a rich and varied expression of the natural world.
