ABOUT TANYA
My paintings are a reflection of my search for tranquillity and beauty in a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming. Each picture is an invitation to step into a peaceful realm removed from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Some of my paintings include man-made structures such as buildings or roads because I’m interested in the contrast between the untamed beauty of the natural world and the order and structure imposed upon it by people. In most, I aim to capture the vastness and beauty of an ever-changing sky.
I paint with oils because of their ability to achieve subtle transitions in tone and colour. I work slowly and methodically building layers and blending and mixing hues as I strive to create a sense of harmony and balance. Through the interplay of light and shadow, I seek to create a sense of depth drawing the viewer into the painting to explore its nuances and intricacies.
Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to convey a sense of calm through my work. I hope my paintings can serve as both a source of comfort and as a connection with the natural world.
